Colombia Live
AMARILLO CLASS
Ages: 5 to 8 yrs old.
In our Amarillo class, we focus on getting our bodies moving with energy and discipline while becoming familiar with the stage. Students will learn how to properly grab and manipulate the skirt, improve coordination, stage presence, and spacing, while also working on stamina, flexibility, memory, and technique. Along with physical skills, we dive into the history behind the rhythms we dance to. Classes are taught primarily in Spanish, helping young dancers maintain their vocabulary or start learning from scratch.

AZUL CLASS
Ages: 9 to 14 yrs old.
Students will focus on mastering beginning to intermediate footwork and body coordination aligned to different Colombian rhythms. There will be interactive activities to teach about the roots of different Colombian rhythms, reinforce the importance of discipline in dance and foster teamwork in the dance floor. Choreographies will have simple combinations to help students build spacing awareness across the polished lines throughout the dance.
ROJO CLASS
Ages: 15+
Classes will be fast-paced and adaptable to students of all dance levels, however, there will be a stronger focus on intermediate to advanced footwork, body coordination and stage presence. The class structure will incorporate body conditioning, technique and performing skills. We manage a large and diverse repertoire of dances for our shows so be prepared to work on your Caribbean style or refine your elegant personna for Andean dances or work on your faldeo movements for the Pacific rhythms. Choreographies will have a mix from beginning to advanced combinations and more intricate choreography figures are incorporated to the dances. There will be interactive exercises to build teamwork, stage presence and learn about the history of our beautiful Colombian dances. Every class is high energy and full of fun!
